Lahaul and Spiti Valley road is perfect route for riders planning to see the icy landscape of Himachal Prades. A trip to Koksar Village, located on the Lahaul and Spitil Valley road, in the January, is ideal for adventure lovers. This year, I ventured on a remarkable vacation with a friend that took us from the bustling city of Chandigarh to the calm slopes of Manali and the serene beauty of Koksar, all along the scenic Lahaul and Spiti Valley road.

Begin the Journey: From Chandigarh to Manali on the Way to the Lahaul and Spiti Valley Road

We started our adventure around 10 p.m. with our backpacks packed and enthusiasm in the air. We began our journey from chandigarh by boarding a overnight bus, excited to experience the tranquillity of the highlands. As we drove over the twisting roads, the anticipation grew with each passing second. Finally after a long journey we arrived in manali at 5 a.m., i felt the cold and fresh air and saw a blanket of snow covering the area.

A Day in Manali

When we reached Manali, we had already booked a room in hostel with the name of safar hostel which is in old manali. it is one of the best hostels in manali and i’ll definitely suggest you to stay there if you are planning to visit manali. it’s itself a offbeat hostel of in the area. After arriving at the hostel, we relaxed for few hours and then started to explore the locals of manali. We experienced the local famous food of manali, Sidhu. Then we went to famour Hadimba temple in old manali. I clicked some pictures and captured videos of nature and surrounding green lush trees. it was the moment when i feel like i was in a peaceful place. The snow capped peaks around us were stunning, and we could’nt help but admire nature’s handiwork.

Manali is frequently the starting point for many adventurers trekking, road trips, and bikers heading to the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys, but we knew we were only getting started on our own short journey.

Off to Koksar

The Next day we set our sights on koksar, a hidden gem in the Lahaul Valley. To visit this breathtaking village, we opted to rent a bike from old manali. Riding through the gorgeous mountains was a thrilling experience. As we navigated the winding roads of lahaul Valley, the incredible beauty of Lahaul and Spiti Valleys unfolded before us.

It is an adventurous offbeat short trip. Just after 9 km ride through the Atal Tunnel, the scenery changed from lush flora to rugged mountains, providing a taste of the Lahaul and Spiti Valley road’s varied aesthetics. Riding a bike through such beautiful countryside gives sense of freedom and adventure. This short ride was not just about reaching the destination but about embrasing the experience as a whole.

When we first arrived at koksar, its unspoiled beauty fasinated us. It felt like we were completly in another world. we took our time discovering the area, had a great chat with locals and cut ourselves off for a few hours from the artificial world of bustle. The quite environment was a boost for us. I am glad that this village has little awareness around the country, which keeps its beauty intact.

For those who are have less time and wants to explore the Lahaul Valley, Koksar is the top starting point for them. The village itself serve as a starting point for countless treks and adventure sports because of its stunning scenery. Koksar is the the basic point of the Lahaul Valley where most of the rough and adventurous routes lead adventure seekers to spiti valley.
